According to the State Agency for the Prevention of Alcohol-Related Problems (PARPA), alcohol consumption increased by 0.23 litres per capita in 2019 compared to 2018. The increase brought the Polish alcohol consumption to 9.78 litres of pure alcohol per person, the highest it has been since 1993.

Two GACD funded projects supported in the 2018 GACD Scale Up Call are leading a workshop event at the upcoming World Congress on Public Health 2020 (12-16 October). A three day awareness campaign on high risk pregnancies was organised in Jhajhar district of Haryana as part of the SMARThealth pregnancy project from Feb 3 to 5, 2020. This follows a similar exercise done in villages in Guntur for high risk mothers and ASHA workers. The campaign was part of an endeavour to strengthen post and ante-natal care for pregnant women.
